Hey friends! I am feeling good today, as I have accomplished the work that I set out to do! As my mom would post *arm pump*!
I have been thinking about Tedx a lot today, and I am really thankful that I was able to do a TedxTalk this year. If you haven’t seen it yet- check it out here! Being part of TedxStanleyPark was a real game changer. I went into it wanting to talk about people with Epilepsy and Disabilities, but some of my fellow speakers really changed my game with regards to what I am doing with my life. I would have never imagined this, but now I am working hard to become (or am I already one??) a solopreneur. (Which is like an entrepreneur, except it’s just one person.) This person (Hey Isabelle, you rock!) saw something in me and gave me an awesome butt kick in the right direction. When she saw that I was falling out of her community, and even stopped communicating with her, she told me that she thought I hid behind my Epilepsy. I was SO upset, but hey it’s because the truth hurts. It was like a hand pulling me out of the quicksand and saying “Hey! I believe in you! Now YOU have to believe in you, too!”
That aside, the actual experience of Tedx was amazing. I actually had a platform to talk about chronic illness, and besides graduating it was probably one of the best days I’ve had thus fat. So yeah, I am so grateful for being able to speak at Tedx, the people that I met, and how much of a game changer it was!
Lots of love,
Sita and JoJo xoxo
